Crawl
A calm off-road drive around a low-poly Hawaiʻi Island. No fails, no timers, no end — a small 4×4, the next ridge, and the day turning slowly over the island.

The island
A fold-out map fills in as you go
Hilo
Rainforest and waterfalls on the wet side of the island, where the trees are solid and the brush slows you down.
Mauna Kea
Up through the cinder cones to the snow, and the observatories on the summit.
Kīlauea
Down across the lava fields to the caldera, where the lava lake glows after dark.
Built in the garage,
driven on the island.
Open the garage anywhere and the island pauses where you are. The camera swings round the crawler, and you change its lift, tyres, wheels, roof gear, paint and tuning on the spot.
Then you drive whatever you built. A taller lift clears bigger rocks and leans more on a side slope; the game reads the crawler from the garage, so every choice shows up in how it climbs.
- Drivetrain
- 2H, 4H and 4L, with the diffs open, the rear locked, or both.
- Ground
- Rocks to crawl over, soft ground that swallows the tyres, and water that finds the air intake.
- Day and night
- A slow day turns over the island. After dark, a light bar floods the trail.
- Photo mode
- Play back the last minute, swing the camera round, set the light and save a picture.
- Controls
- A keyboard on desktop, touch on a phone or tablet, or a gamepad.
Where it stands
The engine is playable, and the island drives. What the game is for — the reason to keep going over the next ridge — gets decided once the driving feels right. Until then Crawl isn't public, and this is the page it will live on.
